VYNIX Journal · Understand the filter
Do FL-41 Glasses Block Blue Light?
FL-41 glasses filter selected parts of visible light, including some blue wavelengths. They do not necessarily block all blue light. The amount filtered depends on the actual lens—not simply how pink it looks. If your priority is light comfort, compare the filter information and intended use before choosing a frame.

Selective filteringThink about which light is reduced—not an all-or-nothing blue-light claim.
Rose, not neutralA visible tint changes the colour of your view.
Choose by useLight comfort, outdoor darkness and UV protection are different requirements.
What does FL-41 actually filter?
FL-41 is a rose-tinted filter associated with light-sensitivity eyewear. The University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center describes filtering of some blue and green light and notes that the reason people may find relief is not completely understood. That is a more useful description than “blocks every bit of blue light”. [1]
Filtering is not the same as eliminating. A lens transmission chart shows how much light passes through at each wavelength. A dip indicates lower transmission in that region; it is not, by itself, proof of a medical benefit. A rose-coloured photograph cannot substitute for that lens information.
VYNIX Rose FL-41 glasses are offered for visual comfort in bright or harsh lighting. We do not publish a universal blue-light-blocking percentage here or suggest that every product labelled FL-41 has an identical transmission curve.
Four lens features that should not be confused
| Feature | What it describes | What to check before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Selective visible-light filtering | How transmission changes across visible wavelengths. | Look for information about the particular lens, not a claim based only on rose colour. |
| Overall darkness | How much visible light the lens lets through in total. | Decide whether you need an indoor rose tint or darker outdoor sunglasses. |
| UV protection | Protection from ultraviolet radiation, separate from visible blue light. | Check the product’s UV specification; a pink or dark appearance does not establish it. |
| Polarisation | A feature used to reduce reflected glare. | Do not assume a rose FL-41 lens is polarised unless the product information says so. |

A lens feature and a health outcome are different claims
A 2023 Cochrane review found that generic blue-light filtering lenses may not improve short-term computer-related eye strain compared with non-filtering lenses. That does not answer every question about FL-41 and photophobia, but it is a reason to avoid buying on a blanket “blue light equals eye strain” promise. [2]
The research linked here is not a clinical trial of VYNIX glasses. We present the Rose collection as a light-comfort option, not a treatment or prevention claim.
A better way to choose than chasing the highest percentage
Name the setting
Are you shopping for an office, a bright shop or a walk outdoors? A clear use case makes it easier to compare the right lens category.
Keep the view usable
Check whether the rose colour suits your task. If accurate colour judgement is important, discuss tinted lenses with an eye-care professional.
Compare fit before style
Use the measurements on the product page and a comfortable pair you own. Contact VYNIX if you need help comparing the frame options.
For persistent headaches, eye pain or light sensitivity, seek professional advice rather than assuming a tint will address the cause.
Frequently asked questions
Do FL-41 glasses block 100% of blue light?
Do not assume that. FL-41 is a selective filter, and a percentage claim needs measurements for the actual lens and a clearly defined wavelength range.
Are all pink glasses FL-41?
A pink appearance is not enough to establish a lens’s filtering performance. Shop from the lens description and available specifications rather than judging the colour in a photograph.
Does a stronger rose tint mean better migraine relief?
A darker or more colourful appearance is not a clinical result. Individual comfort varies. For migraine-specific questions, see our FL-41 and migraine guide and speak with your clinician.
Which VYNIX rose frame should I choose?
Choose by measurements and style: Ersa for a bold square look, Astraeus for a slim metal profile, Himeros for a cat-eye shape, or Selene for an everyday frame. Current colours and details are on each product page.
